A Message from the Technology Coordinator:
Hi Everyone,
I’d like to let you know that there are two major changes that I have made on
the website, As you can see, the first is the page design. I felt that it was
time for a change, so I asked one of the tutors who worked for me,
Anna Prolagayeva, who graduated this summer from Bergen Community College with an AA
in Graphic Design/Computer Graphics, if she would like to plan the design and
create the graphics for the website. She was quite happy to take on this project
during the break in the summer. |
 |
I have updated the main pages with the new design and will continue to make
changes to the site as time allows. I am doing it this way so that there is no
down time with the site. Other than loading a little slowly the first time for
dial-up users, if you see any problems with the updated pages, please let me
know. Send me the address of the page, the words on the page where the error
occurs, a description of the problem, and if possible, the type of computer you
are using and the screen resolution.
The second change is with the membership application and conference registration
forms. Both of these are set up so that they can be filled out online. When you
fill out a form and click “Submit,” the information is sent to us immediately
and you get a confirmation page that is already completed. This page has the
mailing address so that you can print it and send it in with your check or
school purchase order. The confirmation page also has payment buttons
(membership) or links (registration) to pay online with either a credit card or
through a PayPal account. If you have any problems or questions about this,
contact me by e-mail. I normally respond within 24 hours.
Finally, I would like to remind you about the use of the e-mail list. It has
proven to be an excellent avenue of communication for employment opportunities,
workshop and conference announcements, questions about state laws and standards,
advice, best practices, material searches, testing questions, and social
concerns.
To send a new question, address it to:
njtesolbe-hot@lists.tesol.org. If you
want to send a response to the entire list, just click on “reply.” However, if
you want to respond privately to the individual who sent the message, you must
copy and paste that person’s e-mail address in the “send” box. Although the
e-mail list is for members only, and each message is monitored, the list has a
readership of about 800 people, so word your messages carefully and please stay
within the guidelines above.
More information about the hotlist can be found at:
http://www.njtesol-njbe.org/newsletter/hotlist.htm.
You can contact me at: webmaster@njtesol-njbe.org.
