SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS: Socio-political Concerns

Legislative Updates

By Elizabeth (BJ) Franks

From the Arizona law banning ethnic studies to the California “Seal of Biliteracy” and everything in between, the Legislative Update workshops and panels will inform you about national and state issues. Join our panel of Rutgers students who will discuss the impact of the Arizona law and the Dream Act on Wednesday afternoon. Then on Thursday afternoon, learn what is happening in NJ about teacher evaluation, Common Core State Standards and ELLs and how the NCLB waiver impacts ELLs. Staying informed helps you to advocate for your students and parents' rights. So plan on stopping by our advocacy table or one of our presentations.
