New Jersey Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages/New Jersey Bilingual Educators (NJTESOL/NJBE) is a nonprofit professional organization serving educators of multilingual learners throughout New Jersey. The organization provides professional learning, advocacy, leadership, and networking opportunities.

Through conferences, Chapters, Special Interest Groups, publications, and statewide events, members connect with colleagues, share expertise, and stay informed about issues affecting multilingual education.

ADVOCACY
A Voice for Multilingual Learners and Educators

NJTESOL/NJBE provides opportunities for the voices of teachers, ESL students, and bilingual students to be heard while keeping educators informed about policies, legislation, and issues affecting multilingual learners and the professionals who serve them. Through legislative alerts, advocacy updates, public testimony, statewide outreach, and opportunities for action, the organization helps amplify the voices of educators and multilingual communities and supports meaningful change.

NJTESOL/NJBE creates opportunities for educators to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another through local Chapters, professional learning, workshops, events, and statewide networking opportunities. These connections help educators share expertise, exchange ideas, and build a strong professional community focused on supporting multilingual learners.

SPRING CONFERENCE
Three Days of Learning and Connection

NJTESOL/NJBE’s annual Spring Conference brings educators together for keynote presentations, workshops, exhibitors, professional learning, and opportunities to connect with colleagues in ESL and bilingual education. Attendees can join the conference in person (May 24, 25, 26) or access recorded sessions (June 2 – August 20) through the Video Library.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Supporting Students and Educators at Every Stage

NJTESOL/NJBE recognizes achievement and supports continued learning through awards, scholarships, and grants. Opportunities are available for fourth- and eighth-grade students, high school and college students, educators pursuing a master’s degree, K–12 teachers, and bilingual or ESL educators through the Barbara Tedesco Award.
